Little Lambs Learning Center Preschool and Daycare in Schoolcraft will take part in the Kalamazoo County Ready 4s program this fall. The goal of Ready 4s is to provide accessible, high-quality pre-kindergarten for every 4-year old in Kalamazoo County so that every child can begin kindergarten ready to succeed.
The program strives to eliminate barriers such as transportation or finances, which may affect the availability of high-quality pre-kindergarten programs to families who cannot afford them.
According to Diane Rice, Little Lambs director, “It is a lot of work but will all be worth it as we provide the high quality preschool experience every child deserves.” Rice and her staff have been working with Kalamazoo County Ready 4s toward a 4-Star rating. The preschool and day care has new curriculum material and has been attending training over the summer to prepare. Rice is part of a group of directors working toward the same goals.
Additionally, in September, Little Lambs is celebrating its one-year anniversary of being licensed for infants and toddlers. “It has been a joyous year having little ones around. Its fun for the older children and teachers to watch as the younger ones crawl, walk, talk and feed themselves,” Rice said. “We’re extremely excited to take our programs to the next level and Ready4s.” For more information, contact Diane Rice at 679-2508 or visit http://www.kcready4s.org.
