Schoolcraft veteran Don Paradine, with his son, Kevin Paradine, as a guardian and Dale Rice also of Schoolcraft, with his nephew, Randy Rice, as his guardian were honored to go on the Talons Out Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. on June 4. The area veterans being honored left from the Kalamazoo airport and returned the same day. They viewed the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknowns. “It was an honor to be chosen for this flight and to be welcomed home at Wings Stadium was great. We all felt like we finally were welcomed home after serving our country so many years ago,” Paradine said. “I only wish my friends Bud Hallam, Harry Semenczuk, and Paul Schott could have been with us as we all enlisted together.”
