Pastor Damon Gardzelewski accepted the pastoral appointment at Wakeshma Community Church (WCC). His first day as senior pastor was on November 1st. Pastor Damon said, “I became a Christian at age nine during a visit with my grandfather. He led me to Christ. Now I want people to experience Jesus Christ the way I have.”
Pastor Gardzelewski (pronounced Gard zu lis key) moved here from Macon, Ga. with his wife, Liane and their three children, Matthew, Kristen and Jaxon. Liane is originally from Michigan, while Pastor Damon has lived in Georgia most of his life.
Pastor Damon received a BS degree in Youth Ministry from Liberty University. This was followed by a master’s degree in Religious Education in 2000. In 2012, he received a masters of divinity from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. “I felt the first calling on my life to be in ministry while visiting a Christian college with my youth pastor. I told him I felt called to do youth ministry,” said Pastor Damon.
He has been involved in youth ministry for 15 plus years in various capacities. Before coming to Wakeshma, he was the senior pastor for Bloomfield Gardens Baptist Church in Macon, Ga. for close to three years.
“At WCC we want people to come to know Jesus, we want to celebrate life change, and we want to partner with them to be disciples that go and make disciples,” stated Pastor Dave.
