August makes an appearance

by | Aug 2025 | Voices & Series

It’s hard to believe that August is here. July was a hot one, and this cooler weather is a welcome break. August marks the nearing of summer’s end: School students start gathering their school supplies; gardeners push tomatoes and zucchini which multiply in gardens overnight; campers are enjoying their last month of summer adventures.

We hope you enjoy our August edition which includes some updates, regular features, and unique stories.

Walk for the Poor

Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. for the 5th annual Walk for the Poor sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Vicksburg and St. Edwards Catholic Church in Mendon. The walk will take place at the Vicksburg Recreation Area/Trail parking lot at 12538 S Sprinkle Rd. This event offers the perfect opportunity for fellowship with others, to lighten the load of someone else, and the exhilaration of an unspecified distance walk outdoors. A donation or sponsorship will help us raise money for those in need from this area who are struggling with housing, food, utilities and more. For more information, please call 269-649-1629 ext. 3 and leave a message for the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Watch for more information here next month about registration and ways to contribute.
