Schoolcraft Marching Band Director Paul Stanton has put together a show for home football halftime shows and marching events called “Mix Tape”.

It includes “I Want to Hold Your Hand” by the Beatles, “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen, “Open Arms” by Journey and “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond. The band has performed the show at each home football game. It also competed at Portage Central High School where it finished 5th among 7 equivalent size bands.

Stanton returned to Schoolcraft to lead the band this year after leaving to take a vice principal position at Olivet School District. The Marching Eagles have a total of 36 members: 8 woodwinds, 10 brass, 6 percussion, 10 color guard and 2 drum majors. Student leaders include drum majors senior Sya Schoultz and junior Logan Haley, color guard captain Autumn Kelly and percussion captains Eric Beehler and Ryan Maslanka.

Many people are a pivotal part of helping the band put on its shows and concerts throughout the year. Many alumni came back to help this season’s band: Brayden Kroetsch, Logan Rinderspacher, Garrett Dzierzyc, Lukas Rinderspacher, Hunter Barkalow, Brenna McDonald and Abbi Hulinek. Band boosters include President Kristina Rinderspacher, Treasurer Adam Haley, Volunteer Coordinator Keri Dykema and members at large Nannette Stultz and Nikki Hulinek.
