Barbara Jean (Hook) Stafinski, 93, Vicksburg, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo. Barb was born in Kalamazoo November 16, 1932, identical twin daughter of John and Gertrude (Peters) Hook. Barb attended St. Joseph Catholic School and St. Augustine High School in Kalamazoo, graduating June 8, 1950. She worked at the Upjohn Company (Pfizer) as an inspector and retired after over 25 years of service. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, twin sister Shirley Grubka, sisters Marguerite Ernst, Lucille Pickett, Josephine Busby, and Dorothy Petty; brothers Robert Hook and Norbert Hook. Barb is survived by several nieces and nephews and extended family members whom she enjoyed spending time with at special family gatherings. Cremation has taken place, and a private interment will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon on Friday, April 17, 2026 from noon until 2 p.m., with a rosary starting at 2 p.m. In Barb’s memory, donations may be made to Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo.
