Mildred “Millie” R. Brown, 87, Vicksburg, passed away March 21, 2026. Born on October 18, 1938 to Galvin and Mildred (Kline) Irwin in Constantine, Millie grew up in Three Rivers and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1957. She married Marvin G. Forsyth on December 29, 1957, and they had four children, Ronda, Randy, Wanda and Cindy. Upon marrying Marvin, she began the busy life of a farmer’s wife which she described as challenging and rewarding. She enjoyed baking and sewing and spending time with family. While the children were teenagers, Millie and Marvin decided to go in different directions. Millie married Bud Shingledecker and inherited two stepchildren, David and Wanda. After Bud’s passing, Millie married Jerry Brown, and her family grew even more, adding more stepchildren. Jerry would eventually pass away from cancer. She then reconnected with Marvin, who passed away in 2010. Millie was preceded in death by her husbands, parents, daughter Ronda Armstrong and son in law, Bob, daughter Cindy Chapman, grandson Bobby Armstrong, and brother John Irwin. She is survived by her children Randy (Dawn) Forsyth and Wanda (Mark) Howlett; grandchildren Kyle (Melissa) Howlett, Derrick (Izumi) Howlett, Shawn (Nicki) Forsyth, Travis Forsyth, Jessica (Nick) Brown, Greg (Ashley) Brown, Lisa Hammond, Carli Armstrong, Stephanie (Joe) Baldwin, and Andrew Chapman; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; son-in-law Mitch Chapman, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 1-4 p.m. at the Avink, McCowen & Secord Funeral Home, 409 South Main Street, Vicksburg.
