Vicksburg Community Schools has experienced its share of construction-related activity over the summer
Superintendent Keevin O’Neill provided a summary of the work, which includes building-access control at all five school sites in the district. That work comes with a price tag of about $60,000.
Continuing projects include the second year of various tasks started in 2025. O’Neill said they are limited to three buildings:
- Corridor and classroom flooring replacement at Vicksburg High School, Vicksburg Middle School and a portion of Sunset Lake.
- Selective restroom renovations, including fixtures, floors, walls and electrical, mechanical, and plumbing improvements at the same three buildings.
Total cost for the ongoing projects is approximately $2.6 million. Of that total, the work being completed this summer is approximately $1.7 million, O’Neill said.
Frederick Construction is general contractor of the work. O’Neill said funds to support the projects come from the approved 2020 millage.
