On the front cover, you can see the warmth in Kurt Wiley’s smile. He and his mother Caroline enjoy greeting visitors at their farm stand on U Avenue, between Vicksburg and Schoolcraft. Like many area markets, the Wileys are ready for jack-o-lantern shoppers! The pumpkin selections seem to expand each time I drive by!

I am watching and waiting for the maples to begin their glorious display. Don’t you just love sweatshirts and cooler nights? And fresh area apples and cider? Maybe hotdogs over the fire?
