Coach Jared Meyer commented on his Varsity Girls’ Golf Team: “We caught a tough break when our best returning player, state finalist from 2025 and senior captain moved out of state over the summer. We do have good numbers (17 girls in the program) and a lot of young talent but not much experience. Our top 8 contains 3 seniors (with only 1 of them playing varsity a year ago) 1 junior, 3 sophomores and a freshman.
“We are currently 4th in the conference standings behind Plainwell, Otsego, and Three Rivers with 4 jamborees completed, 4 remaining as well as the conference championship tournament. We’ve finished as high as 3rd and as low as 5th in 9-hole jamborees.
“The varsity team roster is:
- Lexi Triemstra (Sr.)
- Madison Cooley (Sr.)
- Trinity Northup (Sr.)
- Madison Cooper (Jr.)
- Amy Currier (So.)
- Kaitlyn Keown (So.)
- Madelyn Steigenberg (So.)
- Lily Verduzco (Fr.)
“The 6 girls playing in our jamboree this afternoon (September 15th) by seed are:
- Kaitlyn Keown
- Lexi Triemstra
- Madelyn Steigenberg
- Lily Verduzco
- Madison Cooley
- Trinity Northup
“Our girls are working hard and improving but Plainwell and Otsego are extremely good this year and will be hard to catch. I’m looking forward to competing against Three Rivers, Sturgis, and Paw Paw for #3 behind the top #2 school.”
