Schoolcraft Volleyball Teams Score Big Wins

The Schoolcraft Eagles faced off against the Parchment Panthers for ladies volleyball on October 23. The Lady Eagles, first in their KVA division, dominated the court, winning the first set ending with the Lady Eagles scoring 26 points against the opposing 24 by the Panthers.

As the second set  rolled on, the Eagles won again with a two point lead; Eagles 27, Panthers 25. The third set began with the Eagles falling short but not for long. Camille Giacobone served most of the balls in this set, ultimately leading the Lady Eagles to gain back the  lead. As the game came to an end, the Eagles won with an astonishing nine-point  advantage, ending the game at 25 Eagles and 14 Panthers.

The Junior Varsity Lady Eagles volleyball team won its game against Maple Valley on October 24. With the JV Lady Eagles placing second in the KVA, they will move on to play again. The team performed well and they stuck it out to the end. “Our team definitely stayed focused on the court during game day,” said Bryanna Delouf, former player on the Lady Eagles volleyball team. “The best part of tonight’s game was how we all played well off of each other’s energy.”

Cross Country Teams Run for KVA Championships

On Tuesday October 15, the Schoolcraft Eagles cross country team ran in the KVA Conference championship meet  to vie for the title of KVA champions. With an overall score of 39 points, the boys’ Schoolcraft Eagles team was awarded  first place and move forward to the regionals with a shot for state champions, while the girls came in third with 111 points as they move forward to the regionals.

Neal Malakowski, a former runner for the Eagles,  observed that “everyone is important and contributes to the team.”  Madison Ring, a senior, said “The team is like brothers and sisters to each other.” As the team moves forward together, both sides stick together and push to the end.
