Great pitching and catching from the Schoolcraft All Star team, ages 10-11, led this Little League team to the District 15 state finals in baseball according to their coach, Matt Abel.
“Our core group of outstanding kids, had great cohesiveness and team work. They did it with speed, too, to go along with the pitching and catching,” Abel enthused. In the regional competition which was held in Schoolcraft at the Little League diamonds, the All Stars beat Edwardsburg to get to the state finals. Even though they were competitive at state, they lost to Iron Mountain, Cheboygan, and Tecumseh and thus were eliminated. “Hitting was the major problem for the team at that level,” Abel said.
