The Battle of Sunset Lake has been touched by a huge long list of local volunteers, according to Kevin Borden, the Boy Scout Troop 271 scoutmaster. “It’s amazing to me the many people who have stepped forward to help organize this first-time event in Vicksburg.”

The organizing committee that started digging into the possibility of bringing the North West Territory Alliance to this community includes representatives from the village of Vicksburg, the Historical Society, Vicksburg Community Schools, Boy Scout Troops 251 and 253, Vicksburg’s Parks and Recreation committee, the Downtown Development Authority, the Vicksburg Chamber of Commerce and the South County News.

They include Stefan Sekula, Brian VandePolder, Sue Moore, Ted Vliek, Tonya Nash, Kevin Borden, Renee Hawkins, Valerie Tassell, Kip Young, David Aubry, Kristina Powers Aubry, Brian Pitts, Tanya DeLong, Ken Schippers, Randy Seilheimer, Stella Shearer, Bill Adams, Robin Maple, Marian Steffens, Mike Roy, Ric Beers, Nancy Irving, Kathleen Hoyle, Jean Warfield, Duane Monroe, Linda Lane, Tim Hardy, Colin Bailey, Kim Critz, Emily Craig-Fink, Kathi Lovell, Vera Walker, Ed Schmitt, Gloria Culp, Nancy Colburn, Vicki White, Ward Lawrence, Mike Tichvon, Paula Hochstedler and Rob and Regina Richardson.

The Daughters of the American Revolution, the Sons of the American Revolution, and the Children of the American Revolution will be in attendance during the two days, as well as participating in the parade. Over 500 Boy Scouts will be camping near the Recreation Park and helping with parking, delivering ice and set-up on Friday for the re-enactors’ camp site.
