Adult Events

Book Club for Adults – July 6, August 3 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. July’s book is “The Screwtape Letters” by C.S. Lewis.

Movie Club – July 24 from 1-3 p.m. Watch “Becoming Jane” at the library with coffee, tea, and cookies.

Comedy Movie Club – July 26 from 4-6 p.m. Watch “The Lost City” at the library with popcorn and drinks.

Crafts for Adults – July 11 from 1-3 p.m. Create painted plastic spoon garden markers.

Dungeons and Dragons – July 19, August 2 and 16, September 6 and 20 from 5:30-8 p.m.

Evening Writers’ Accountability Group – July 12 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Report progress, set goals, share resources and advice, and troubleshoot or brainstorm your projects with other writers.

Speculative Fiction Book Club – July 20 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. A book club for sci-fi, fantasy, and horror. Share a book you’ve read and bring a suggestion for August.

Bridge Club Event – Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m.-noon.

Tai Chi Class – Tuesdays from 7-8 p.m and Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Writer’s Roundtable – July 26 from 1-2:30 p.m. Get support, feedback, and inspiration from fellow writers.

Youth Events

For youth programs, children ages 0 – 11 must be accompanied by an adult/caregiver at all events unless noted otherwise.

Elementary Craft/Activity – July 3 from 11 a.m.-noon. Ages 5 – 11.

Elementary Book Club – Read a book about super heroes and come to discuss it. Completed grades 1 – 5. 11-11:45 a.m., July 5.

Teen Book Club – Completed grades 6-12. Read a mystery book and come to discuss, noon-12:45 p.m., July 5. Read sports book and discuss, noon-12:45 p.m., July 19.

Mugs and Hugs – Stories, rhymes, peer interaction. Ages 4 and below. 10-10:45 a.m., July 5, 12, 19.

Elementary Movie Club – All movies include popcorn, bring your own drink. Ages 5 -11. “Mulan” 1-3 p.m., July 6. “101 Dalmatians”, 1-3 p.m., July 13. “Brave Little Toaster”, 1-3 p.m., July 20.
Family Storytime – Clark Park, or Library if it rains. Read, sing and play. Ages 4 and below. 10-10:30 a.m., July 10, 17, 24.

Teen Activity/Craft – Join us for games and crafts. Completed grades 6-12. 12–1 p.m., July 10.

Teen Movie Club – All movies include popcorn, bring your own drink. Ages 12–18. “Puss In Boots”, 4-6 p.m., July 11. “Corpse Bride”, 4-6 p.m. July 18. “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, 4-6 p.m., July 25.

Audubon Adventures Program – Ages 5-12. Learn about your neighborhood birds including preserved mounted birds. 3-4 p.m., July 12.

Vicksburg Historical Village 4-H Event – Come and explore a craft table with the Vicksburg Youth Librarian while learning about animal husbandry. 10 a.m.–noon, July 15.

STEAM – Ages 5 – 11-plus. Engage in hands-on activities inspiring creativity and problem-solving skills. 12-1 p.m. July 17.

Lego Free Design Club – Ages 5 – 11+. Events have suggested themes, but creativity is the goal. 1-2 p.m. July 18.

Elementary Book Club – Completed grades 1 – 5. Read a book your friend recommends, bring them, and come to discuss it 11-11:45 a.m., July 19.

Teen Book Club – Read a book related to sports of your choice and come to discuss it. Completed grades 6-12. 12-12:45 a.m., July 19.

Dynamic “Be Kind to Our Planet/Go Green” Program – Ages 4- 12. Don’t miss this interactive program with live animals. 6-7 p.m., July 27.

Turn in all July Summer Reading Packets (Toddler, Elementary, and Teen) for Grand Prize Drawings.10 a.m., – 5 p.m., July 28 and 29.

Meet June and July goals and earn a ticket to the End of Summer Reading Party, where winners are announced.

End of Summer Reading Program – Toddler 10-11 a.m., Elementary 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Teen 1-2 p.m. August 7.

Vicksburg Farmers’ Market – Come and craft with our Youth Librarian. All ages. 2-6 p.m. July 28.
