May updates

by | May 2024 | Voices & Series

It’s May! Despite some cold days and nights, our lawns are green, and tulips and redbuds are blossoming. We have house finches nesting by the front door, and I am watching for the orioles return. The first tiny rabbits skip and scamper around the edges of the yard. Spring sure is grand!
We are proud of this issue that spotlights our spring student athletes. We have included news from our area schools, local government, interesting features, and the usual columns you have come to expect.

Spring Sports Pictures

Many thanks to Schoolcraft photographer Stephanie Blentlinger and Vicksburg photographer Lisa Harbour for taking photographs of the area sports teams and for helping us continue to include these team sports photos in the South County News. Thanks also to Vicksburg High School Administrative Assistant Kris DeVries and Schoolcraft High School Administrative Assistant Shannon McDonald for their help in identifying the athletes and coaches and their attention to detail. Additional thanks to our advertising sponsors.
