Mark your calendars for July 25, 26 and 27 and join us for a fun-filled Festival at the Vicksburg Community Pavilion at the Historic Village. The Vicksburg Lions are well known for their annual Beer & Brat Festival, but you don’t have to be a fan of beer or brats to enjoy all that this three-day event has to offer.
Thursday, July 25 is Family Night, 6-8 p.m. Treat your kids to a fun evening filled with games, prizes, crafts, a Magic Show, Caricature Artist, Balloon Artist and raffle drawings for $50 gift cards, compliments of Meijer. There is a kids’ $1 menu featuring hot dogs, chips and pop. Dinner for the adults is a little pricier with John Fink’s famous brats. For adults we DO serve beer, with a variety of craft beer, wine, and seltzers. Other activities include free KidSight vision screening and a fun encounter with a fire truck! Live music by local artists begins at 8 p.m.
Friday, July 26 opens for lunch at 11 a.m. An Adult Cornhole Tournament with 100 participants is featured from 6-9 p.m. A $5 cover charge begins at 6 p.m. with music by the local Back Roads Band from 8 p.m.-midnight. Brats, dogs, sauerkraut, and beverages are served throughout the day and night! Come and enjoy this huge social event!
Saturday, July 27 features the 50-plus years Alumni Luncheon for those who graduated from Vicksburg High School at least 50 years ago! Alumni, you won’t want to miss this! The meet and greet begins at 11 p.m. with lunch at noon. This memorable event gets bigger each year and the experience is filled with smiles, hugs, well wishes and good food! Pre-paid registration is required for attendance. For added entertainment, an Adult Horseshoe Tournament begins at 11 a.m. and lasts well into the afternoon and sometimes the evening. But that’s not all: Back this year by popular demand is HairMania, the band that put the Vicksburg Lions B&B Festival at the top of the chart for local entertainment! The music begins at 8 pm. with a wrap-up at midnight. A $10 cover charge begins at 6 p.m. The B&B Summer Festival is a cash only event, but an ATM will be available to those who travel without cash!
The B&B Summer Festival is the Vicksburg Lions Club’s largest fundraiser. Other major events include the fall golf outing and the February bowling extravaganza The proceeds from our fundraisers are returned to our community through a variety of means. We work with SCCS, the Vicksburg School District and Vicksburg Optometry to provide vision screening and glasses for those experiencing vision problems. Eash year we provide $1,500 scholarships to four graduating seniors. This year three local families each received $2,500 to assist with recovery from fire damage to their homes. These are just a few of the ways the Vicksburg Lions support our community and we couldn’t do this without YOU! Thank you!
