Zack Bishop, president and founder of 4 Flutes Machining of Vicksburg, was recently named Michigan’s Emerging Leader of Manufacturing 2025 by the Michigan Manufacturers Association. According to the association, “The annual Manufacturing Excellence Awards is a celebration of the remarkable individuals, groundbreaking products and innovative organizations that are shaping the future of the industry.”

Winners and finalists were announced at a press conference in Lansing on October 22nd, and a formal celebration will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the Lansing Center. The award is determined by independent industry judges for demonstrated leadership within the manufacturing sector.

While this award focuses on Bishop’s leadership skills, knowledge and accomplishments throughout the industry, the 4 Flutes team itself is no stranger to recognition, having been named 2024 APEX Accelerator Best Small Business by Michigan Celebrates Small Business in 2024 and named one of Michigan’s Top 50 Companies to Watch in 2025. The business continues a rapid growth trajectory under Bishop’s watch, and this award is a testament to all he’s done across the manufacturing industry in the state.

Bishop’s knowledge and vision is also being recognized across the country through a new consulting venture called NeuroSteel Advisors Consulting. During the past year Bishop has spent more than half his time on a mission supporting a large medical device manufacturer in the state of Florida.

When asked if it’s difficult to divide his time between projects on opposite ends of the country Bishop quickly says, “No, we’ve put together a leadership team at 4 Flutes Manufacturing, with Tim Osterhouse as the chief operating officer, to continuously improve the day-to-day operation of 4 Flutes and they haven’t missed a beat. And we aren’t talking about maintaining, we’re talking about growth.”  “In the last year 4 Flutes has quadrupled its footprint in Vicksburg”, says Bishop, “by taking addition space formerly used by Octane Trailers. We have pulled in some additional startup companies into Vicksburg as well”.

Bishop is proud of his company’s growing footprint in Vicksburg and gives back to the community by supporting the new Career and Technical Education Center (CTE) in Kalamazoo County as a founding donor and to the Edward Lowe Foundation which Bishop describes as “transformational” to him in his earlier years of leadership and entrepreneurship. Bishop confides that he feels driven to use his knowledge, skills, and vision to continue to make his mark bigger in the world, and that “he’s just getting started.”
