Mark your calendars for the afternoon and evening on Saturday, October 10. The 11th Annual Vicksburg Bulldog Marching Band Invitational, a Scholastic Marching Bandompetition, is back this year for another great celebration of music, music education, community, food, and fun.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Vicksburg Band program, put on by the Vicksburg Band Boosters and an amazing team of volunteers from the Vicksburg Band community.
Hosted at Vicksburg High School’s own Bulldog Stadium, spectators can expect to see a showing of around 20 high school bands coming from all over the region to perform their competitive 2026 marching shows while getting a chance to enjoy live music and plenty of food offerings from five different food trucks: Ibison Concessions, Sweet Caroline’s Ice Cream, Scott’s Pig Roast & More, Mama Jo’s Coffee Co., and El Sabor de MI Pueblo with its authentic Mexican food: tacos, burritos quesadillas and nachos.
At the end of the evening, there will also be a crowd favorite face-off-style Drumline Showcase, just before the final Awards Ceremony where the Grand Champion trophy will be awarded to the top scoring band of the day.
This is a unique event too, because the whole event is livestreamed with a multi-cam setup produced by Great Event Video Productions on the Vicksburg Big Red Machine YouTube page. It allows those who are unable to attend a chance to see their favorite bands perform from wherever they may be. There is also a digital program online to accompany this experience in-person or virtually. If you or your company are interested in being a sponsor for this event, please reach out to Lead Event Coordinator Jake Munson for more info by sending an email to jsmunson13@gmail.com.
Come on out to enjoy some great music and delicious food with your family and friends (and 4,000+ other spectators) for one of the biggest and best music events in the region! And keep an eye out for the upcoming orders for your own commemorative shirt designed for this event.
Admission for this event is $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors. Ages 10 and under are free. For more info, head to vicksburgbands.com/bulldog-invitational.html
