Eleven new faces were on hand when Vicksburg Community Schools started its 2026-27 academic year.

Superintendent Keevin O’Neill said the group includes six classroom teachers, a pair of specialty instructors and a core-subject teacher at Pathways High School.

O’Neill said the district was fortunate to land candidates with a level of talent that will benefit its students.

“It’s always a win if you can fill openings with people who have a strong and impressive level of talent, and I’m happy to report that’s exactly what we’ve done,” the district’s ninth-year superintendent said. “Vicksburg Community Schools welcomes our new staff members and wishes them well in the years ahead.”

The district’s new faculty members are:

  • Jill Boudrie, second grade at Indian Lake Elementary.
  • Emma Strong, fifth grade at Sunset Lake Elementary
  • Katie McElligott, third grade at Sunset Lake.
  • Amy Leasure, Spanish at Vicksburg Middle School.
  • Cheryl Thomas, band at VMS and Vicksburg High School.
  • Jennifer Gray, science at VHS.
  • Dianna Anderson, science at Pathways High School.
  • Christian Meylan, counselor at Sunset Lake
  • Jessica Segraves, speech language pathologist at Indian Lake Elementary.
  • Therezine Corcoran, ESI Teacher at Indian Lake.
  • Amanda Fischer, school psychologist.

In addition, an elementary principal position previously held for the past 11 years by Amie McCaw at Sunset Lake was filled in June. Brittnae Bolz was chosen by the board to replace the now-retired McCaw to lead the largest of the district’s three elementary buildings.

Classes at VCS started Aug. 31. The last day of school is June 11.
