Vicksburg Lacrosse Sign-Up for Boys and Girls

Bulldog LacrosseAn early start to learning a sport is likely to mean more proficiency. In Vicksburg, lacrosse is catching on and kids are signing up for league play beginning in fourth grade, according to the Bulldog Lacrosse Club’s secretary, Andrea Carr.

Lacrosse is considered the fastest growing team sport in the United States, Carr said. “It’s fast-paced and full of action and it’s a good sport for both boys and girls. No experience is needed and all skill levels are welcome.”

Non-mandatory conditioning begins on February 15 at Sunset Elementary from 6-7:30 p.m. on every Monday through March. They teams are hoping to start regular outdoor practice the week of March 15, weather permitting, at Swan Park by the Schoolcraft Township hall. The cost is $250, including a $100 refundable uniform deposit.

Coaches for the 4th through 6th grade team are Antonio Buentello, Dave Yeck, and Joe Lux. Coaches for the 7th and 8th grad team are Darrell Fitzsimmons, John Hempel, and Sandy Pratt.
